Afghani Karahi Recipe
There are a lot of variations in Karahi, one of them is the delicious variety of Afghani Karahi Recipe. For a perfect taste follow the recipe with the right directions and ingredients. This is a chicken karahi recipe for 1 kg of meat. You can increase the quantity of meat and spices accordingly.
Some people use yogurt as an alternative to tomato but in this recipe, if you use yogurt it will not give the right taste of Afghani Karahi.
Ingredients
· Chicken 1 kg
· Tomatoes 1/2 kg
· Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
· Crushed red chili 1 – 1/2 tbsp
· Salt to taste
· Green chili 6
· Whole coriander seeds 1 tbsp
· White cumin seeds 1 tsp
· Whole black pepper 1 tsp
· Ghee 1 cup
· Lemon thinly sliced 1
· Ginger ( for garnish) 2 tbsp
Directions
1. Roast coriander seeds, cumin seeds, and black pepper and grind them all.
2. Fry chicken in ghee and take it out on the plate.
3. Put sliced tomatoes in a pan and cover them so they will get soft in steam and their own water
4. Now add ginger garlic paste, salt, red chili, whole green chilies and fry just for 2-3 minutes.
5. After that add fried chicken pieces in this tomato gravy and ground spices along with ghee (in which we fry chicken) and cover it for about 10 min.
6. While serving add coriander leaves, ginger slices, and lemon slices.
Note:
You can make it with oil, but I will suggest to make it with ghee once for an authentic taste.
